Our Ministries:

WORSHIP/MUSIC MINISTRIES

At SPCF we believe worship is a way of life, worship is about giving—giving honor and respect to God, and worship is about serving. We gather at SPCF to give honor, praise, and respect to the Almighty God. We gather to proclaim that He is great and awesome in His mighty works. We worship Him because He is the creator of all that is, and He, alone, is worthy of our praise.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES

SPCF believes that children matter to God and that they are an integral part of our ministry and family. Children need to become Disciples of Christ by learning His word, developing a prayer life and being involved in Christian service.

Our mission is to be an extension of the family and partner with you in teaching your children the Word of God. Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” We want to provide the best learning environments for your children so that they will grow in faith by knowing, experiencing, and accepting the genuine love of Jesus Christ.

YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE

Significant to the vision of SPCF is the commitment to reach out to the community around us with the love of Christ – particularly the children. A large part of this effort is through our annual Youth Basketball League. Starting in the fall of 2002 the league has grown to involve about 240 players - boys ages 5 through 13 and girls ages 5 through 15. The kids have an opportunity to participate in an inexpensive basketball program with a focus on involvement and acceptance.

YOUTH MINISTRIES

Our mission is to partner with families to present the message of Jesus Christ in a way that is understandable, relevant, and practical to every young person. We seek to provide an environment that is conducive for young people to meet other youth and be understood, belong, and contribute to the purpose and goals of the church body to reach out to our community. We strive to provide spiritual discipleship based on the Bible. We desire to address issues pertinent to the life of young people living in today’s complex world. We hope to lead every young person in becoming a fully devoted follower of Christ. We attempt to achieve these goals thru various events that help to train our young people, help them experience the move of God in their lives through worship and service, and through building community with Christian fellowship.

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

SPCF has started a ministry that focuses specifically on the single, young adults of our church body. A recognition of the limited social opportunities young adults have with Christian peers has been the main motivator for this ministry along with a desire to provide fellowship opportunities for the young men and women of our own body of believers.

ADULT EDUCATION

The mission of the Adult Education Ministry is to respond to the commission given to us by Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

WOMEN’S MINISTRY

The Ladies’ Ministry at SPCF offers a number of opportunities for fellowship and fun. Ongoing throughout the year are groups offering a time to gather each month for fellowship and Bible study. The quarterly events include an interesting twist on the usual gathering such as the Night of Chocolate and the Hormonal Holiday. There are also opportunities to attend retreats on the state on local level. The annual Craft Fair and Dessert Night in the fall is always well attended and the year is wrapped up with the Ladies’ Christmas Party in December.

MEN’S MINISTRY

The men of Stony Point Christian Fellowship enjoy gathering every week at Carlos’ Country Kitchen at 5:00 am on Fridays. They participate in the Northern California Men’s Resurrection Breakfast just before Easter, and the annual Men’s Retreat in the fall is a great time of fun and fellowship. There is a group that meets twice a month to share in a topical study pertinent to men’s needs. The men also have a true heart for service and support as they are frequently involved in service for helping a needy family or another church with clean up or construction projects or simply taking up a special offering outside the parameters of the whole church body to meet a special need.

YOUNG ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

FRIENDSHIP CLASS

A Ministry to Developmentally Disabled Adults

They have a Bible study each week on Sunday mornings for the Friendship class as well as opportunities for them to get together about once a quarter for a potluck dinner, a birthday party, or a special event.

MISSIONS

SPCF has supported missions work in South America since 2001. Through our contacts, Wayne and Phyllis Wozniak, we have helped with the planting of 17 new churches in Peru plus supporting 19 established churches there. Now we have been given the opportunity to support church plants in Colombia as well. So far we have helped with the planting of seven new churches with plans for more next year.

Other areas where we are involved include: supporting a children's feeding center in Rwanda through our Women's Ministry; monthly support to the children of Cottage #10 at Smoky Mountain Children’s Home in Tennessee; involvement here in Sonoma County with the Redwood Gospel Mission’s City Kids Festival and serving of Thanksgiving dinners to the homeless; and outreach to our community through the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Festival, and Youth Basketball League.
