SPCF Youth Basketball League The Youth Basketball League is one of the most valuable things we do here at Stony Point Christian Fellowship. The league is run by Ed and Carla Waller who started the program in 2002. We currently have room for about 190 kids on 21 teams. The boys run ages 8 through 13 and the girls run ages 8 through 15 based on age prior to Jan 1. We are always looking for ways to include more players as none of us like the job of telling kids the teams are full and they have to go on a waiting list.
Applications for the next season will be available in September. Skills evaluations and team placements will be in late October. Practices start in November and games will begin the first Saturday in December. We will have games each weekend through December (except the weekend after Christmas) and January, and the final games will be the first weekend of February ending with an awards ceremony that night.
It is very important that everyone who wants to participate in the Youth Basketball League is able to as long as there is room. To that end we only charge $5 for applications. The bulk of the expenses are covered by the generosity of our sponsors who are willing to donate $250 per sponsored team.
